The “Turkish Journal of Pathology Research Article of the Year Award” was presented at the 23rd National Pathology Congress held in Antalya. The jury consisting of Prof. Dr. Nesimi Büyükbabani, Prof. Dr. Beyhan Demirhan, Prof. Dr. Ömer Günhan, Prof. Dr. Şükrü Özdamar and Prof.Dr. Suzan Zorludemir found the article “Follicular Mucinosis and Follicular Mycosis Fungoides: Clinicopathological Evaluation of Seven Cases” by Banu YAMAN, Bengü GERÇEKER TÜRK, Günseli ÖZTÜRK, İlgen ERTAM, Gülşen KANDİLOĞLU, and Taner AKALIN worthy of the award. The first author will be invited to next year's National Pathology Congress with travel, accommodation and participation expenses paid by the Federation of Pathology Societies. We would like to remind you of this award with this opportunity and we expect you to send us your new studies to be published in our journal.
The “Reviewer of the Year Awards”, awarded for the first time this year but one we hope to develop into an annual tradition also found their owners. The award winners were selected among the reviewers who evaluated the most articles after “Turkish Journal of Pathology” was transferred to digital media and those who contributed to the improvement of the articles by making a systematic evaluation. The awards were given to Prof. Dr. Ömer GÜNHAN, Prof. Dr. Nilgün KAPUCUOĞLU and Prof. Dr. Burçin ÇEVİK TUNA at the 23rd National Pathology Congress with the support of Elsevier. We thank our reviewers who have an important role in the creation of a well-written article for their contributions. The “Reviewer of the Year Awards” will continue to be presented in the coming years by considering the evaluation content and duration.
However, we found it appropriate to present a “Reviewer Special Award” to our Statistics Chief Consultant Prof. Dr. Ergun KARAAĞAOĞLU and our Statistics Consultants Dr. N. Anıl (BARAK) DOLGUN, Dr. Sevilay KARAHAN, and Dr. Jale KARAKAYA as they evaluated almost all research articles with us, the pathologists, and made important contributions. We want to thank all of our statistics consultants one more time.
We previously announced that we accelerated our article evaluation process. We now try to provide our first response within 1 month to all articles sent to us. We would also like to inform you that we will publish the accepted articles within 2 months as “epub ahead of print”. We will also publish the entire article that have been accepted so far but not yet published, within a few months as “epub ahead of print”. Your publications will therefore reach the reader in a very short time and without delay. We think that this is an important step for our journal in a world where knowledge becomes old very quickly.
