The problem of unilocular cystic echinococcosis (One of asemptomatic, a series of 235 cases)

235 cases of unilocular hydatid cyst cases were diagnosed between the years 1984-1997 at SSK Göztepe Training Hospital. The age distribution of the cases was between 5 and 76 with the female-male ratio of 1.6/1. The most frequently involved organ is the Iiver (183 cases, 57%). This followed by the Iung involvement (52 cases, 22%). In four cases 'multiorgan involvement is seen (1.2 %). One case diagnosed as ovarian hydatitosis was receiving treatment for other disease, and it was diagnosed incidentally routine pathological examination.
