Adenomatoid tumor is an uncommon benign nodular neoplasm seen in the female genital tract originating from serosal mesothelium. Adenomatoid tumors are much less common than their tubal counterparts. They are usually encountered in women of reproductive age and usually identified as leiomyomas in gross appearance. The most common differantial diagnosis is with lymphangioma. Another common differential diagnosis is with adenocarcinoma.
Here we report a case of adenomatoid tumor in a 31 year old woman who underwent cesarian section, a nodule was discovered incidentally and thought to be as leiomyoma. But it is encountered as adenomatoid tumor by the evidence of histopathological and immunhistochemical studies.
This rarely seen adenomatoid tumor is presented by the review of the literature.
