Bcl-2 and PCNA immünoreactivity and AgNOR scores of follicular lymphomas
In this study, bcl-2 and PCNA immunoreactivity and AgNOR scores of 33 cases of follicular lymphoma were evaluated and any correlation between histologic subtypes and their staining properties was investigated.
Bcl-2 positivity was detected in 87.8% of all cases. On statistical evaluation ti was found that small cleaved cell follicular lymphoma (SCCFL) had significantly more positivity with bcl-2 (p<0.05). Large cell follicular lymphoma (LCFL), however, showed tendency to be negative with bcl-2(p<0.01). As to staining patterns, nodular staining pattern was more apparent in SCCFL group than the others.
It was detected that there were significant differences among the subtypes in PCNA activity and AgNOR scores (p>0.001). With both parameters the highest and the lowest scores were observed in LCFL an SCCFL groups, respectively.
