ERD5 and It's relationship to prognostic parameters in breast Carcinoma
Steoid hormons have an important effect on the progression of hormone dependent tumors. The presence of steroid hormone receptors can be detected by monoclonal antibodies directed to the receptors or indirectly by detection of intracytoplasmic proteins such as ERD5 was detected immunohistochemically in 38 radical mastectomy specimens those were evaluated at the pathology department of AOH between November 1992 and March 1993. The relationship between ERD5 and age, menapausal status, tumor size, lymph node status, clinical stage, histological and nuclear grade, lymphocytic infiltration, lymphatic invasion, elastosis were evaluated ERD5 positive cases were older (p<0.001) and there was a positive correlation between elastosis (p<0.05). There were no correlations between other clinical and morphological parameters.
