Expression of p53 protein (tumor suppressor gene) in endometrial adenocarcinomas and relation of grade p53 tumor supressor gene is located on the short arm of chromosome 17, at p13 gene region. It codes a 53 KD nuclear protein which regulates the cell proliferation this protein blocks the cells entering to phase S. Mutation or deletion of p53 tumor suppressor gene leads to incerased prevalance of tumoral lesions. Endometrial adenocarcinoma is the leading cancer in post menopausal women. In this study, we tried to show the p53 gene expression with the increase of celluar proliferation in 36 endometrial adenocarcinoma cases 3 of the 11 grade I, 5 of the 11 grade II, and 8 of the 14 grade III cases specimens were stained positive. The overall positive to negative ratio was 44 %. Increased p53 positivity was found significant with increasing grade in endometrial adenocarcinoma (p>0.05).
