Helicobacter pylori is a bacteria that was first cultured by Warren and Marshall in 1983. Causing chronic atrophic gastritis, which is a precursor lesion in the gastric adenocarcinoma/ development, has put forward the probable role of Helicobacter pylori (HP) in the pathogenesis of gastric adenocarcinomas. We studied histologically 47 patients by Warthin-Starry staining method, who has underwent gastrectomy because of their gastric adenocarcinomas and the ratio of having HP was found as % 55.3. This ratio was % 47.4 in intestinal types , % 63.6 in diffuse types and % 50 in undifferantiated adenocarcinomas.
