The papillary and solid epithelial neoplasm of the pancreas or papillary and cystic tumor of the pancreas is a rare tumor. A 30-year-old woman was referred for evaluation of an abdominal mass. Grossly, the tumor 'appeared well circumscribed with focal hemorrhage. Microscopically, it was composed of small uniform eosinophilic cells forming papillary and solid structures with focal hemorrhage resulting in formation of cholesterol granulomas. The eosinophilic fine granules and coarse globules in the cytoplasm were positive for PAS reaction. By immunohistochemical staining the tumor cells were positive for chromogranin, cytokeratin, progesteron and estrogen receptors and Ki-67.
We presented this case because of its interesting histopathologic features, with the review of current literature.
