Thyroglossal duct remnants are the most common congenital anomalies of the midline neck. Lateral aberrant localisation was reported unusually. Carcinoma is found in one percent of them. Papillary carcinoma is the most common type (80%).
We present 3 additional papillary thyroglossal duct carcinoma cases, two of them 28 and 40 years-old women and one 47-years old man. In all patients, first cyst excisions were performed, after pathologic diagnosis thyroidectomies were performed. All patients had occult papillary carcinoma in thyroid. Three-papillary carcinoma cases, originated from thyroglossal duct, reported and criteria for diagnosis were discussed insight of the literature.
