The Correlation of the immunohistochemical expressions of c-erb-b2, p53, Bcl-2 with the apoptotic and proliferative indices and the other prognostic factors in colo-rectal carcinoma. In this retrospective study, we aimed to investigate the correlation of c-erb-B2, p53, bcl-2 oncoproteins with apoptotic and proliferative indices and the tumor grade, stage and prognosis. The sections made from paraffin blocks of 57 colo-rectal carcinoma cases were reevaluated in the Pathology Department of Uludağ University. The type, grade and stage of the tumors as well as the apoptotic and mitotic indices were determined on hematoxylene - eosin sections. Immunohistochemical stains of Ki-67, bcl-2, p53 and c-erb-B2 were performed on the tumors of the 57 cases. In our study, 49 of 57 cases were adenocarcinoma, six were mucinous, and two were signet ring cell carcinoma. Three adenocarcinomas were Grade I, 39 were Grade II and, seven Grade III; of fiftyseven cases, 16 cases were stage I, 10 were stage II, 26 stage III and five stage IV. According to our results, no statistically meaningful association was found among these oncoproteins, apoptotic and proliferative indices and the other prognostic factor.
