Introduction

Dear Colleagues,

In this first issue of Turkish Journal of Pathology in 2010 Vol. 26, you will notice that the number of articles has been increased in conformity with the joint decision of the Editorial Board. I believe and hope that this will further increase by your contributions. Th ereby we aim at publishing at least 50 articles predominantly including original papers per year.

You will also note that most papers are in English in this latest issue of the Journal acquiring international quality. Considering the possibility of being accepted by some indexes and getting high citation impact, for the first time some papers in Turkish have been translated in English by the publishing committee. We intend to publish more papers written in English. Translation and reduction services for authors suggested by the Journal will soon be announced in the Journal's web site.

It has also been decided to organize a panel on “Scientific Publishing” during the National Congress of Pathology which will be held in Eskişehir, Turkey in 2010, for residents and for those being prepared for academic life and wanted to be up to date. Related news will be announced soon in the Journal's web site.

On behalf of Editorial Board, I hereby acknowledge to Journal's resigned associate editors, Bilge BİLGİÇ, M.D. and Ali Rıza KANDİLOĞLU, M.D. for their contribution. Finally, I wish success to associate editors, Sergülen DERVİŞOĞLU, M.D., Mine GÜLLÜOĞLU, M.D., and Selda SEÇKİN, M.D., recently assigned by Federation of Turkish Pathology Societies in their new task.

With my best regards,

Professor Şükrü Oğuz ÖZDAMAR, M.D.
