Low-grade fibromyxoid sarcoma is a recently recognized, uncommon soft tissue neoplasm with a tendency to develop in deep soft tissue of young adults. Macroscopically, the tumor is described as having a well circumscribed contour and a fibrous to myxoid cut surface. Microscopically, a pseudocapsule surrounds the tumor; however, focal infiltration into the adjacent soft tissue is identified. Tumor is comprised of bland, fibroblastic spindle cells arranged in a whirling growth pattern within a fibromyxoid background. In this report we describe fine-needle aspiration biopsy and pathological examination findings of low-grade fibromyxoid sarcoma in three patients. |
