Morphological and Clinical Features of 149 Malignant Melanoma Cases

In this study to evaluate morphological and cIinical features in Cukurova area, 149 malignant melanoma cases were reinvestigated in regard to their IocaIization, age, and sex. In our study 81 percent of cases were cutaneous melanomas and 19 percent were extracutaneous melanomas. Cuta-neous melanomas in females are Iocated on face and Iegs and in males on foot, face, trunk and arms. Most of the cases when first diagnosed were in vertical phases. Most ofthe extracutaneous melanomas were Iocated in eyes (%45) and rectum (%43).
